In the most recent issue of T, The New York Times‘ style magazine, Alice Rawshorn asks the interesting question Is Design Still a Boys’ Club? In the course of discussing whether or not this is still the case, she notes, “Some 64 percent of last year’s design undergraduates at the Rhode Island School of Design were female, and the only course where men were in the majority was architecture.” Professor of Furniture Design Rosanne Somerson ‘76 ID also discusses some of her professional experiences as a female designer.
