At RISD it’s quite obvious why art is important, but I recently received the following message from RISD graduate Peg Pasternak:

I have to give a big speech at Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills, Mi this week (where I teach). Can you help me say a few key things on “Why the Arts are Important”?

I posted some of the bullet points that I have in my own mind (apologies that they revolve around RISD … but hey, what doesn’t? <smile>) and am always open to feedback. -JM
