Congratulations to alum and RISD faculty member Daniel Sousa 94 IL, whose 13-minute animated film Feral is premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, with the first screening in the Shorts Competition this evening (other screenings follow on January 21, 22, 23 and 26).

As the trailer shows, Daniel uses a poetic, abstract approach and hand-painted frames to tell the story of a wild boy who’s found in the woods and brought back to civilization, where he finds it even more difficult to adapt than in the forest.

Find out more about it in this Q&A. And best of luck out in Utah, Daniel!
